Curt Jensen did design the first Cricut Vinyl collectible which was released in 2011 at the Cricut Circle Meet-Up {Road Trip to CHA} in Ohio. There were originally 12 planned, but only 6 were released to the public. The other 5, which were manufactured in a very small quantity, were given to employees and one, which was a mystery color, was never manufactured. You bought them without knowing what color you would receive. The idea was that people would buy them and trade them at the Circle Meet Ups. But the trading never really took off and the Circle ended in 2012. The Collectibles were on sale and then clearance until the stock was gone. Fast forward a few years and the interest in them was growing. We had a petition (2015) in my group asking Cricut to bring them back. Ashish {Cricut CEO} passed it on to Huib {one of the Product Managers} to make it happen. He even asked us what colors were wanted. The collectible had to be redesigned to meet the import requirements {thus the slight difference in the original Collectible and the Cutie} and the Cutie was born! The Mint, Lilac, Blue, and Pink were released on Black Friday's Mystery Boxes in Nov 2017. The demand and variety of colors have grown since.

The green plushie Cricuts made their first appearance at CHA in 2010 as a "bag tag" {it had keychain hardware to attach to a tote bag} as a vendor giveaway. Circle members that attended the Meet Up received one as well. Cricut then added both the smaller size {without the keychain hardware} and the larger size to the Cricut shopping page and the Cricut Rewards Program. Those were discontinued after a few years. There were many Cricut and Cricut Circle branded items at one time. . . t-shirts, aprons, scarves, sunglasses {at the Imagine launch}, Circle charms, Cricut pins, Santa hats, and more!   --- Paulette Trent
